When Misfit (http://www.misfitcode.com/misfitmodel3d/) updates I plan on editing the Lucifer Cannon model to be more unique, I also plan on giving it some more unique texturing.

I'm thinking of making the Painsaw blade yellow, what're your thoughts?

I'm an asshole so I'm fishing through filefront for a new Xael model.

Misfit 1.3somethingorother is out in a beta, so I have the ability to make and edit models. I'm not, though. Not untill I can make something that doesn't look horrible. >_>

if you're mixing models you don't own and tremulous assets it is very easy to violate the license of the tremulous models (CC-by-sa 2.5 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/)), i would advise against doing so unless you really know what you're doing.

Bah, I'll do it myself.

Better to make a few craptastic guns then violate a license, I guess.

Meh, I gotta learn sometime. Besides, practice makes perfect.

It even says Xael 12 on it, although I've got to fix the... upsidedownedness...

The Crazylcannon mod was included in this to give the Xael an extra flare of power. I take no credit for the extra scripting.

The antialien stickers were my original idea, I intended to place the antityrant on the BSuit's rump, but the texture is slightly cut off in the .tga and I cant find the other half... If there is no other half, I don't want a retarted two headed rant on some dude's ass.
Anyway, what do y'all think about the antialien logos?

Like the look of the "Goon me" jetpack? Should I put "Goon me!" on the wings, or something?

What should I do with the Pulse rifle? New model? New skin? New projectile color? Got any ideas?

Does the Xael scoreboard icon suit it? If not, what could it be changed to?

Got any ideas for a new Xael model? Concept art? References to other weapons? Do tell!

Yeah, I know, it's mainly just hue and saturation changes, anyone could do it. Well, I intend to add custom models and more custom skins, so it'll be more then just a quick photoshop job.

Is it at all possible to change weapon names, or would that require a whole mod?

Thanks for the comments.

WTF?

xD

Mine was first!

For the Xael, I was thinking maybe something like the StarWars portable missile launcher:

But perhaps something such as the Ionization Blaster could work?

Post by: AKAnotu on June 27, 2007, 04:17:23 pm
i have that book, lol.
actually, have it look like the old blaster(with the vest and the pack on it's back)
maybe also the EWEB, only without a tripod stand

EWeb'd be good for something like the pulse rifle, but it doesn't look powerefull enough for a Xael to me.

What do you mean by the old blaster?

Got a page# or reference pic?

>_>

the beam cannon?
i don't have the book on me, maybe a mini death star for the xael?
jk,lol
hmmm, take the stokhili spray stick, thicken it, and give it handles, then again, that would look more like a rocket launcher.
idk, i may go find it and look in it

Here's the online wiki version for ya. Link! (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Essential_Guide_to_Weapons_and_Technology) Unfortunately it doesn't have the nice sketches.

I think you're talking about the... beam tube.

The spraystick idea could work, I'm working on a model now.

I seem to have run into a problem.

My custom models aren't loading their custom textures...

You should devmap and use /testmodel to test the models, thats how i see how they render in game.

Bump. 1.1 released with a few changes!

Any clue as to why it's untextured?

I've got lcannon.md3 along with a matching lcannon.tga in the models/lcannon folder of zz-xaeltest.pk3.

Anyone have any ideas for alien changes? I was thinking of finding a way to put on screen mandables, like how humans can see their gun, aliens will be able to see their claws. I dunno how easy/possible that'd be though. Does the Xael scoreboard icon suit it? If not, any ideas? I've found a picture that I like for the new Xael:

You like?

If so, I'm going to resketch it with a little Plague Bringer flair and then attempt (read: fail multiple times over the process of a week before I decide I like it) to model and texture it.

Take the .pk3 and put it in your Tremulous/Base folder.

Enter an unpure server like SST| Tremulous and it'll work.

Ladies and Gentleman!

Please Vacate The Premises!

We have detected a HUGE Asshole, shooting flames.

That was a bit .... gay of you Lava.
He wasnt actually giving you a reason to flame him, releasing a good mod, which I like, and then updating and owing up to not being as good as the mighty, awesome LAVA CROFT, then gets burnt to a cinder by OUR LORD, LAVA CROFT!!!

actually this mod is sufficient to ban plague bringer from the forums
it makes tremulous look crappy

That's all a matter of opinion, and it seems as though yours is the minority. If you think it looks crappy, then give me some suggestions, or better yet, go flame somebody else.

If it's not your style, then don't comment. I'm trying to change some graphics to give Tremulous a new look on unpure servers for those who are sick of the old Tremulous graphics. I'm not trying to make a new TremX, and I acknowledge the fact that I'm a pretty shitty modder, but I'm just starting out. I like it, and enough other people do to give me reason to release and update it as I fancy.

EDIT: Don't know if this is just me or not, but after the download I've got a few missing textures or something -

All "clear" walls, ceilings, whatever look that way.

For those of you not keeping track, the score is now -

Code: [Select]
MG - 27365
n00b pl0x - 18
All the rest - .0581*-3452/1904^<insert very high number here>
