Title: Warning to Debian people with Intel graphics.
Post by: David on June 27, 2007, 01:26:10 pm
I'm using Debian testing, and have a Intel i915 graphics chip, and the latest updates fucked my laptop.  So if you have the same, I would suggest not installing the latest X updates for a few weeks.

"Fucked your laptop."

And by that you mean?

By that I mean a error message about being unable to allocate memory, and X then not starting.
I was right in the midst of trying out a new window manager, and had forgotten all about the updates...  Took me half an hour to work it out :(

Anyway, fixed it in the end, had to up the VideoRam a lot.  apt-get failed too, apparently the old version vanished into thin air.
