Title: Tremulous models in maps
Post by: Paradox on June 28, 2007, 08:10:41 pm
I am working on a map called UNSC Labs, and would like to include some alien models, as it is a human lab designed to study aliens kept in stasis.
For the model path, do i just use the one out of data, ie /models/player/level3/nonseg.md3? Is there any way to get the model to appear in the editor window so i know what it looks like and how the orientation will be? Thanks.

Take teh model folder out of the .pk3 and put it in your main Tremulous folder. Then link to them from there.

I also would need to put a human model in my map. However, when I look, it seems that there are different models for the head and body. So would I just stick both of them in Radiant, and align them?

Help appreciated.

Get misfit (or any other model program), import the models, and save them all as one model.

Thats what i am doing, cause i am having a goon in the middle of a wooo!
Would the model actually display, or just be a box?

1. Wtf's a wooo?
2. The model will display as a model with textures, so long as you place the textures in the right place. You'll need to place a playerclip around the model for it to have clipping, though.

Some of this information may be wrong, it's been a while ince I touched GTK Radiant. It may be wise to double check with Survivor, Lava Croft, or another, more experienced mapper.

Fullclip instead of playerclip and if the model is extracted or used directly from the original location in data 1.1.0 it will work. This however is no promise it will work in 1.2.0 since I do not know how it changes the setup yet.

Ok, i am trying to use a goon model, and as you know, there are 2 textures for the goon, both skin files, one for adv and one for basic. I cant even get the model to render any texture. I would like to get the basic goon, not the advanced, is there any way to do this? I tried _remap, and nothing, so is there some magic process, or do i have to merge the model and textures in misfit or something?

I can't seem to find where I put my models and textures. Just a moment.

Base/models/mapmodels/modelfolder

Im looking for your texture problem on google. I'm having it too.

Maybe Paradox should take a look at the stuff already posted here (http://tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5308) before he starts a new thread about the same problem.
What was the mantra again? Oh yes, I got it:
