As said in title, nexterholland is back. But this time, hes using normal player names. I seen it in a game at MouseSports-server. He was using my name! before, he used tjw's name. BTW: hes not a bot, hes a real person (i sadly greeted him while he was using tjw's nick, and we small-talked).
Im NOT using my nick "Nemo" any longer in any round which Im joining, so dont blame me for. I'll keep my nick a secret, if you'll gain him, you've to PM me at this forum.

PS: Anyone should begg larsson for his server-mods. They'll kick any nexterholland-attempt.

Hmm, wondered when he or one of his colleages would switch to that. Unfortunately against this kind of evil there isn't much you can do, barring a global authentication server.
On the other hand a global auth server is something which would add quite a number of advantages. Stuff like rankings, karma, servers only for people who played a certain number of games, etc, would become more doable.

I have been working on implementing a shrubbot-like administration interface in tremulous. The groundwork is done, so if you want to be admin on this server and help me out in testing, grab tremulous.exe (win32) or tremulous.x86 (linux). This new engine build is necessary in order to support cl_guid which is a pseudo-unique identifier for all players.
The cl_guid might have potential, since if people change their nicks, the cl_guid will remain the same, thus enabling nester to be banned whatever his nick and ip are. It's not a miracle, but it might help discouraging him and other potential pricks.

He's the most famous griefer of Trem. Likes to ruin the games of others. TKers and base destroyers are just subtypes of griefers.

Anyway, I think implementing global authentification (maybe in the master server?) would be a great idea.

Beergarden is running trembot.. and it rocks.. I think we finally got all his IPs.. there's still a few idiots running around.. but trembot makes it SO MUCH EASIER to deal with em.. QUICKLY..

The point of the guid authentication for trembot is that you shouldn't need the rcon password to run the trembot commands like 'rename'.
Assuming you've using the client binary that has cl_guid support, you should only need to run '/rcon setlevel evil 5' once, then you will have access to use '/rename nexterholland "i suck cock all day long"' without ever logging in with rcon. There's nothing wrong with it though, I just thought I would clarify that rcon is not required for trembot admin commands.
In regard to impersonation, the '/listplayers' command can be used to verify identity. If you run this command you will see the last 8 digits of each player's cl_guid. If it isn't (*DB321814), it's not me. Also this command shows admin level, so if it's the server trem.tjw.org and the player doesn't have an admin level, it's not me.
