Title: func_humanspawn
Post by: Odin on July 07, 2007, 03:35:16 am
For 1.2, can we get an entity that allows us to make map objects into human or alien spawn points? For example, maps where destroying the enemy base is not the objective.

These entities could be toggled on or off like other entities, for the addition of more dynamic gameplay. The aliens could press a func_button to disable them, or the humans could capture them to prevent the aliens from winning by destroying the human base(in which case the aliens must rely on completing the alternate objective to win).

If you build a inexpressible, small "egg size" room and build a teleportal right next to it, it would look you spawn out of the wall (or so).
I remember a map what had that, don't remember it's name though.

But wastes alien build points, and isn't able to be toggled.

I think this would be a good idea.  On all current maps it would ruin the game, but you could make some cool objective based maps with this.

Or you could make capture points on the map that let you spawn if you capture them, but only if you have a proper spawn.

Would also need a way of preventing teams from building certain buildings.
