Title: /notarget?
Post by: Bullislander05 on July 12, 2007, 06:12:28 am
Hi,

I was just messing around in my console, and I typed in /cmdlist, and I found the command "notarget".

I tried using it, but it said "Cheats are not enabled on this server."

Then I went to my server, and turned devmap on, and the command worked, but I still don't know what it does.  Could someone please explain?

Thanks,
-Bull

First result applies to Valve, but I imagine that it's a common term.

Please, use google.

Notarget is an ancient Quake cheat (QI, onwards) that keeps AI from detecting you/disables them entirely.  I forget which at the moment.

Edit:  Damn.  Beaten by mere seconds.

Sorry, I never used Google because I figured it was a Trem-exclusive cheat.

Thank you very much!

There is a patch on MGPT that makes it also stop buildings from attacking you, so makes it useful.

I wrote it, but I don't know of any servers that run it or even any QVMs that include it.

Servers should.  Its great for testing stuff, and could also be useful in clan training sort of things.

Notarget in Quake and Quake II would make AI's ignore you, unless you provoke them. Exactly like Quake's Ring of Shadows.
