With the GUI toolkit and language he's using it is likely to be Linux, MacOSX and Windows.  At that link he mentions the fact there hasn't been such a tool for Linux before, so I assume that Linux is a definite yes.

There were always good GUIs for Q3map2 out there for Windows and OSX, but there was never one for Linux, so I decided to write one on my own.

It will indeed run on most all systems. You can select any file you want as q3map2. So you could even write some proxy. Arguments and paths will be called in unix-style, because this way also works on windows. For windows users, the .py will be converted into an executable.

"Outdated browser detected"

Banning Internet Explorer from your site is not a good thing if you want your site to be popular. I would ban IE6 or previous, but not IE7 or newer.

Anyone still using IE obviously doesn't know jack about using computers. Not the kind of people DASPRiD wants using Q3Map2 Kit. They'd be asking him stupid questions on how to do stupid shit.

By blocking IE you're blocking an unwanted userbase.

don't worry pl0x
Safari (http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/06/11/safariwin/index.php) is now available for Windows
lol
:)
plus t3h real l33tsterz0rz use t3h Firefox, eh?

@DASPRiD: I would be willing to tighten up your text in English for you slightly, no offense intended, just to make the site a tad more user-friendly. If I may, I believe you mean "ones", not "once". I would say "that will" instead of "with" in the third sentence. Two Ms in programming, two Es in guaranteed. I would say "operating" instead of "operation". This is not intended to insult you in any way, just a couple of minor suggestions, since I can write, but I can't code. Good luck with the site, and thanks for all you do to support the Tremulous community. Big old smiley-faced grin of naked sincerity. 8]

The only things I remember from German (im der hoch schule, aber sieben-und-swanzig jahre) is "Was ist los mit im?" "Er ist ein scheisskopf." "Wo bist du?" "Meine mutti ist nicht zu hause." & the poem, Max und Moritz (basis for the American newpaper comic strip, Katzenjammer Kids (http://www.kingfeatures.com/features/comics/katzkids/about.htm), by Rudolf Dirks). Oh yeah, and Auf wiedersehn, meine freund.

Edit: I had to look up your town (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karlsruhe). This is mine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland,_Oregon). At least beer is a universal language. Cheers!

player1: You may contact me over icq or jabber (contact information can be found on my website) and talk to me this evening (in 4 hours, 19:00 to 0:00 GMT+1), if you have some time. Then we could overwork most of the texts. Anyway, I fixed the programing-thingy everywhere yet, didn't I?

@ IE: I didn't block the browser because I don't like the userbase. However, most of my visitors don't use that browser, and it would be a pain in the ass to make the really cool XHTML + CSS 2 code compatible with IE 7. Also, if IE 7 get's an XHTML content type header, it want's to download the file, very stupid. So the message is right, it has detected an outdated browser.

Title: time difference may be an issue
Post by: player1 on July 24, 2007, 06:55:16 pm
@DASPRiD: Guten Tag (more of my high school German is coming back to me - Danke Schon, Herr Opilicky) :P

Your last post appeared at 5:55AM my time, so time zone differences may be an issue. Also, I haven't yet installed any ICQ or Jabber clients, but I do have iChat (for what it's worth, which is apparently not much). However, I would be more than willing to go through the site and work with the English text, possibly e-mailing or PMing the result to you. I don't have as much time today as I did yesterday (and my work schedule is very uncertain, intermittent, and sporadic), but I will have more free time later this week. Since most of the users will be Linux users who are thankful for the kit (and fairly forgiving about spelling and grammar) it doesn't seem to be a very pressing issue. I look forward to helping in any way I can, in my somewhat disordered free time. Cheers, Auf Wiedersehn, and all that.

the really cool XHTML + CSS 2 code
There is no really cool code on your site, only basic CSS2 well rendered by IE7:

(http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2888/daspridie7ago1.th.png) (http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2888/daspridie7ago1.png) (http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2271/daspridie7bro2.th.png) (http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/2271/daspridie7bro2.png)

There is simply a small difference in the table and on the search-field unsupported by IE7 on:focus behavior. Conclusion: those problems are irrelevant and don't prove IE7 is outdated in this case (IE7 is bad only for codes that are more complex).

Change your webpages extension, only the extension may be sufficient.

No, it is not. The naming is not relevant for the browser, just the content type header. And I'm not going to use the wrong one.
