Title: Server not appearing in lobby
Post by: mortal_soldier on April 25, 2006, 04:09:30 pm
Im trying to run a server, but its not visible in lobby, what am i doing wrong? I can play on it, but i would like to have someone to play with (my friend tried to find my server with "find friend" option, but couldnt find me).

Btw, this game does not allow me to start server with password, computer stops responding when "starting up" appears on screen, no problem with starting a server with no password.

You seem to be behind a firewall or a NAT. You must open/forard some port to make it working. I dont remember which port...

You have to start tremulous with dedicated set to 2 in order to get it to send heartbeats to the master server (so it appears on the list).

Assuming you're using windows, create a shortcut to tremulous.exe that runs:

tremulous.exe +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg

That's currently on page 4 of this forum btw.

By the way: i'm not sure if it's already in the bug tracker, but clicking to 'sort by ping' sorts only one server. If next thing you do is refresh server list, you get desired result, however.
