Post by: Zyuka on August 02, 2007, 03:44:09 am
I was having some fun on Karith. I moved reactor in a bad spot. Gave myself 1m buildpoints. This is the result... (http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/5296/awesomesp9.th.png) (http://img72.imageshack.us/my.php?image=awesomesp9.png)

You've given yourself 1m bp yet I only see a tiny fraction of the million (~300 bp so about 0.03%) that it would cost to build that base.

I'm disappointed :( I just hope you were using devmap and so didn't have to wait for the build-timer. If you did wait, that makes me even more sad

As far as I can see, the point is to ask that question between periods of not caring.

bolds response=YOU MAKE ME FEEL STUPID!
italics response= i have another repeater base outside
most of it is hanging from that walkway with the ladder than u cant get to without jetpack. the rest is all over taking about 1000 bp. in the default base i have a base worth about 2k bp.

I'm fairly certain that at a certain point, a certain amount of structures, they will no longer even appear anymore, they will simply disappear. There is a limit.

giving yourself 9 funds wouldn't get you a dretch. (i think)

you would have to do /give funds 2000 to give urself 9 evos.
175 funds =175 creds=1evo

It wouldn't matter if there is one hundred billion telenodes just out-of-view, if I can't see it I'm disappointed :(

If you wanted to impress me, why didn't you screenshot the rest of your base too? >8(

Huh, that's odd...must be some server setting or something in whatever QVM is in that determines when buildings simply disappear upon being placed, because me and another guy built as many turrets as we possibly could at Transit and eventually they stopped appearing.

eventually you will fill up the entities array and building another turret will fail.

The MAX_GENTITIES constant is defined as 1024, by the way. 64 entities are reserved for clients, two are reserved for special status (one is <world>), and I'm sure there are various others you can't use for some reason. So more than a thousand buildables should not be possible, rendering any number of build points over twelve thousand obsolete.

We can only see the result of about 300 of that "7 thousand"BP.
So that is:

7000
-300
------
6700

6700 unaccounted for BPs.

EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!

We tried on my server, our shitty computers crashed before turrets stopped appearing. :(

The limit must be EXTREMELY high. My brother and I (when we get bored) have built bases that cover entire maps. Down every hall, and on both sides. At least 250 tesla's and 150 turrets. As well as a dozen armoury's, medistation's, and telenode's. Some probably had even more than that, ATCS Zone Alpha is a big place. Can you say 1fps?

benmachine already said there are 1024 maximum gentities, a few of those are reserved or used up often for temporary things, but you should easily be able to clean 900 structures on a map if you wanted to.

I haven't read every post.
When we build uber-bases like that, its just so we can nade them or spend 20 minutes taking them down with a Tyrant. Mass destruction is more fun than regular game play, IMO.
