Put your map files in a .zip file, then rename the .zip file to a .pk3. A pk3 is just the way Tremulous (and Quake 3) identify resources (correct me If I'm wrong, people).

Well, you could use a program, like 7-zip.
can you just compress an existing folder, is that what it means, like gather the map files into a folder, then compress the folder, and rename it?

Thats what I believe

Wrong! put the map file inside a folder called "maps" then archive the folder as a zip file.

I've posted the .pk3 directory structure twice in two separate threads now, one is still in the first page. Use the search.

Uhh, there is a program for creating, opening and editing .pk3 files. It's called Pakscape, I use it all the time...

http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Pakscape;31681

Best proggie. Ever. I preffer it to Winzip/rar, and it opens .zip files too.

Upload it to a site like FileFront.com, then give people the link. You can also put it on your server, and make sure autodownload is on.

yes, u can put it on your server, but the autodownload speed is very slow, so if u have any map bigger than 500 kb, u will want to upload the .pk3 file to a website, in a folder called base, then put the website link in your server.cfg instead of the mg autodl.

My autodownload is sometimes slow and sometimes fast. It is usually fast though.

:D  :D  :D   Thanks to all for help. sorted.

i found that u can open any PK3 file using Pakscape and just replace the files that r in the folders in there with your own. just save, then rename to the name of your Map. Works fine.

Clever me lol.

Trem is open source, does that mean the default maps r to ???
can i use some of the maps Brushes ???

 :D  :D  :D

if you are refering to when you are playing trem, then when your auto download is fast, that means u are playing on a server with a http autodownload source, and when it is slow, that means that you are downloading straight from the server, usually around 10 kbps speed.
