Without Autobalance you will always get unfair teams, like 10 on 1 or 20 on 0, its unfair. IF you have a problem with the way dretch storm runs their servers go over to www.dretchstorm.com and complain to them there.
I dont think this is sopose to be in feedback because this is for feedback for the game, not for the way a server is run. I believe that is what the server section is for?
Any server not running Auto-Balance is unfair to play on, goodluck finding a server with it disabled.

I think it's nonsense. It's abnormal that when someone disconnects from the server, the other team puts a player to spec. Giving some time for voluntary balancing is better than forcing them. I mean something like:
WARINING: Teams are unbalanced. Aliens have more players. Teams will be auto-balanced in 15 seconds, if still needed.

something like that. but it was annoying so people actually left a team cus it got annoying or an admin enforced rule or something.

Well keeping teams even is a good thing, who would want 15 vs 7? Seems kind of fun to you, but for the team with 7 is probley cussing in Team chat at there teammates.

As for balance, lakitu's qvm yells at people to balance, but doesnt do anthing about it. He released a patch that does give a weak team 1 evo or the same for credits, after the third warning.
On sst's qvm, i changed a few things to make the balance warning text yellow, have the credits feature, and have it CP a message as well.
It seems to work quite well, because when it gets to one team gaining 1 evo/175 credits every 30 seconds, they balance out fairly quickly.
Think of it this way, 4:30 minutes of inbalance gives everyone on a team 2000/9 funds.
