I keep hearing about all this GUID stuff and I was wondering which client is the one that ppl use for clan matches & stuff.
Im usin the regular one that comes with the installer.
Can anyone help me?
-
don't worry about it, it's the same most everywhere (cept modded servers)
A GUID is an ID that allows you to get admin rights and stuff like that
if your playin on a mac you dont have to do anything bout it, GUID's come default
just wait for someone to post the link to tjw.org/somethingoranother
download the tremulous.exe (something like that)
replace your existing tremulous.exe (or whatever) with the one you downloaded
problem solved

Cool. Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was like quake 3 where you had to have the same exact patch for the mods to work.

Click it and a dialogue will appear, choose to save it.

Whats wrong with the backports at these 2 sites?
http://www.trem-servers.com/index.php?page=downloads#client
And
http://risujin.org/tremulous/#backport
I'm using the risujin backport but plan to use the one in the first link as its newer. Is there a problem with these as i've had no problems as yet.

Here is the real link to the official one made by tjw.
http://trem.tjw.org/backport/
While those other ones work, they dont support alt+tab, and so if it actually works on your system, then use it, else, don't bother.

trem-servers one support alt+tab afaik

In my totally unimportant view, I'd say the patch/binary from Trem-Servers.com (http://www.trem-servers.com/index.php?page=downloads) is the preferred client.

That's why you use alt+enter to window it and select whatever you want in background

@tehOen: They didnt when i downloaded them.

Isn't the (r1ch's?) alt+tab patch part of tjw's client, and isn't every feature from tjw's client available in trem-server.com's client?

Been using the trem-servers backport for a few days now and not had any problems at all. Would suggest others try it out.
