Title: Tremulous ports
Post by: blobby on May 01, 2006, 04:31:06 pm
My router firewall is blocking tremulous. Where do I find what ports I need to forward?

You only have to forward ports if you are planning to set up a server. If you are setting up a server, you can customize Trems port (30720 is the default port I think).

My firewall is definitely stopping tremulous. I can't even see the server list when it is on. Please can someone tell me what ports are used or where I can find them. Have dispaired with googling.

As I said, the server port is 30720 (but depends on the server).
But what you are talking about sounds like a software firewall (like ZoneAlarm).
I think it is very unlikely that your router blocks the outgoing connection (not until you told him to do so).
You could try this:
Get a server from http://tremmaster.quakedev.net/ and connect to him with "/connect server" at the console.

im new to this server and technical stuff, and i was wondering wut you mean when u say it depends on the server? do u mean it varies between servers but 30720 is the most common one?

Make sure when you are at the server selection screen, that you are scanning the internet for servers, as opposed to "local" or "LAN".
