Do you prefer FF on or off?
-
Ofc on.
Off sux (like in funzone :P)
-
Depends on how I feel. In scrims, on. If I am tired and lazy in a pub game, off.
-
On, definitely. It helps keep people from spamming, or at least in theory lol.
-
Equilibrium
+1. :P

You suck. Unlike funzone.
Ignore me, I am just very biased towards fun-zone so...
Back on topic: i think it also depends on my mood. Sometimes I feel they should make severs just for tking.
-
Depends how much health I have, and how many creds the person tking me has. If they can pay back my equipment, then sure I'll have it on. If not, then gtfo. Like the time I ran into a full luci shot cuz I was low on health and was instantly repaid in full ;)

I like it on. It can get a bit annoying, and of course Dretch FF must be off (As a tyrant/goon there are too many of the little buggers to avoid). But besides that, it keeps you in check, and adds a layer of difficulty to the game, which makes it more fun to me. If trem was a game where everyone got 400 kills in a game, it wouldn't be any fun after a while. Since it's such a balanced game, it's very successful.
Also, response to HamStar. You just gave me the idea that maybe cred payback should be based on the HP of the person you killed, or the amount of damage you did to the person. If you think about it, if you buy a $25,000 car, and over time it's value depreciates to $5,000 and you get it in a wreck and it's not your fault, are you going to charge the guy for the $25,000 you bought the car for or the $5,000 it's worth. In trem it's pretty much the same idea. If you go and run around with a luci and run back to base with 0 ammo and 10 HP, you're not as useful as someone running out of base with full ammo and 100 HP. Sorry to make it sound crude, but you're honestly not worth as much to your team as the guy who is running out is, at that point. Not overall.

I like to think of dretches as rubbery critters that shouldn't be harmed by something chewing on it.

Thats what I was exploiting :P

On! Nothing is more annoying, yet so entertaing as those accidental (no, really) teamkills.
-
if im playin with a bunch of good people, who have experience, then on.
if im playin with a bunch of not so good people, i like it off.
-
Of course, FF has to be on :-)
As :dretch: I like to circle noobs shooting each other - and then eat them :P
Or think of a mara eating the human reactor - i ts nice when u see the noob shooting a full loaded luciball at you which finishes the smokin Reac 8)
-
On, but in public games off for buildables only.
-
FF is key to balancing the game (dretch HS + rifle bullet = death) but unfortunately it opens up too many exploits for idiots.
I say on servers with 14 or less slots, FF on. On servers with more slots than that, off. If you want FF, you'll need to have active admins as well.
I once played a game on Dretch Storm where the humans built their base in the sand area on Transit. With 20 campers holding mouse1 with pulse rifles, there was no conceivable way to exit the base (via the extremely long ramp) without taking at least 60 HP of damage from FF. That really turned me off to FF on big servers.

Have you ever considered how much worse it is for the aliens trying to get in ,without long range weapons, if the humans can spam all they want because there is no ff?
-
FF on for players and structures. Yes it's frustrating to be bled by nubs, or having your own team messing up your base. But the game is not as enjoyable with FF off as it is when people have to think before shooting/slashing.
-
I think FF off sponsors mediocrecy. I don't mind if people make mistakes, but with FF off you don't learn from them. With +10 slots per team, 4 out of 5 are only staying in base anyway, so the only problem with FF on is to get out of base without loosing to much health.
Also with FF on you can use some chaos dodging tactics which would not be possible with FF off (see TheRifle's post).

Same.

I think ff can be on and also off.
On Fun games it is cool because you can shoot over all.
But on a CW it schould be off I think.

i think you got that backwards.

Depends what he means by "Fun games", if it is just 4 or 5 people on your team than on is good. But if there is like 25 people on your team I'd say ff off.
And CW ff should be on.
