I wanted to start mapping for trem when i got it yesterday and played on a few maps. But when I opened the texture directory in GTK 1.5 I couldnt find a Common folder or a System folder for textures such as trigger and caulk. There was a Common_Trem folder but it only had the tex's nobuild, alien_nobuild, and human_nobuild. So Im woundering why I dont ahve 1 and how I can get it?
That wasnt entirely clear, but I will extract information:
1.) You open GTKRadient 1.5.0
2.) In the textures box, in there is no folder called Common.
Am I right so far?
In case you wanted to know, the common textures are stored in the data-1.1.0.pk3 (that sorta name) in the Tremulous/Base directory
You may want to check there.
Report back on this, tell us a few more things and we'll see if we can help.
Good luck.
I opened data-1.1.0.pk3 like you said, went to textures and the only folders in there are..
common-trem
displays
ix
misc
moria
titan
trmor
and thats it..
im going to redownload the setup file and reinstall it and see what happens.
Oh, sorry, I dint mean the actual shader folder Common was i n it, just the textures that were common.
Redownloading is probly best.
Veery strange tho.
I downloaded it, reinstalled it, and its still not there, its all the same stuff as before...
using this? http://tremmapping.pbwiki.com/GtkRadiant1_5-Win32
Yes I am using GTKRadiant 1.5, no I didn't get it off that site, I got it from the site that releases them as I map for other games also.
Read the Tremulous mapping wiki, it has all information you need to get GtkRadiant running.
yes. you could be missing one of the files that they mention in the wiki and therefore you can't get it.
Ok I dont know why this fixed it, maybe it was because nothing was used enough to be classified under common but... I downloaded some more maps and BAM, there is now a common folder with all the things inside...
That's because one of the maps you downloaded most likely came with the 'common' set of textures and shaders. Now go make maps and amaze us all!
I had the same problem.
Follow the instructions in this section http://tremmapping.pbwiki.com/GtkRadiant1_5-Win32#Commonfiles and restart GtkRadiant.
This should fix any problems you have.
I think the problem stems from GtkRadiant 1.5 now has some support for tremulous but not full yet.
I ignored a lot of the guide as most of it is superfluous now.
