This was an idea I had for a piece of equipment for the human team to use.
You could equip this from an armoury in place of your main weapon (So if you have this, you can only have a blaster + inventory items/armour) The idea is that primary fire makes you temporarily invisible (however you can still be heard) and prevents you from showing up on the aliens' human-sensing-thing (The red and blue dots which appear to show near-by enemies) however alien defenses and the overmind still sense you and are able to attack. The ability slowly recharges when not in use, and carrying a battery pack extends the time you can remain camoflaged.
The secondary fire would be a sort of beacon, placing a marker, similar to those used by aliens to show near-by humans, showing your team which direction you're in. This could be useful for located and marking alien structures so that better armed players can destroy them, but you cannot be camoflaged while using it.
Not being a coder, I'll need someone else's help in order to make this work, but I can make a model (In .obj format) and textures for it.

Making an model in .obj format wont help anyone
It needs to be in .md3 unless u can convert your .obj file to an .md3
if u cant learn blender

I'm not using an intel based mac either so blender won't work. However it should be possible to import a .obj file into a program like 3DS or Gmax and convert it from there if anyone has those.

Have you played Arcade mod? ;)

Hmmm, well, maybe this would work on huge maps during egghunts, but usually it's pretty easy to know where the alien structures are, because they're all clumped together in a main base or forward base. I just don't think the idea adds a whole lot (plus, if it goes to SD and the humans know they can't win, they might just all get a RACK and hide around the map, making it almost impossible for the aliens to win).

I used Blender when I was on a non-Intel Mac...

Does it run natively or did you have to use a parallel OS?
Nevermid, I just found it. Thanks for the info though.

Sweet Lord, can't anyone see any further than their own little minded ideas?
This would implement Grenade-Ninjas, way to go.
DON'T WANT.

Ah, so I'm the little minded one, rather than the person who makes a post simply as an attempt to belittle someone else's idea whilst contributing nothing of any value. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Grenades aren't much use against properly placed alien structures anyway without another weapon to back it up and since you can carry only one grenade at once it'd require more than one person to work effectively, so reducing the overall firepower of the team and making it more difficult to defend your own base. The main idea behind it was to make humans work together as a team and give them a reason to do something other than camp in their base for most of the match, which seems to happen a lot at the moment.
