Title: help getting macradiant to work
Post by: Jalaco on October 28, 2007, 07:39:41 pm
I'm trying to get the map maker up and running on this intel mac so I do everything the tut says to do to set it up and then it comes up woth an error message sasying it found a file that isnt there:

"found file users/myuser/.radiant/1.4.0/radiant.pid this indicates that radiant failed during the game selection startup last time it was run
choose YES to clean radiants registrty settings and shut down radiant
WARNING: global prefs will be lost if you chose YES"

you choose yes and it goes:

"removed glabal settings click ok to shut down radtiant"

open it again and it says:

"didnt find valid game descriptions, aborting
an unrecoverable error has occurred
would you like to edit preferences before exiting radiant?"

choose yes or no and it just shuts down after a little wait you open radiant again:

and the first message comes back you choose no this time and:

"logging consle output to users/myuser/.radiant/1.4.0/radiant.log
refer to log if radiant fails to start again"

the file .radiant doesnt exist so I cant go in there and read the log or or delete the radiant.pid so I dont know what to do so any help would be graatly appreciated thanks you in advance

ok I went back to search again went through 10 pages of topics then ran a search looked through that page and got nothing. maybe you could tell me how you fixed it for windows and I could see if it works for mac with some changes.
