Hello! I am (Spy)z0rs, leader of clan Spy (with (Spy)Incognito)!
The strategies contained will hopefully help you!
Nexus6...
The default base location, I believe, is the best for aliens. Many would disagree, with the jetpacks and all, but I don't.
Best defensive item on this map: trappers
Postioning:
Firstly, when s2, OM immediately gets moved to the top LEFT space, and an egg in the top right.
2. An egg/booster combo under the OM position
3. Ok, here is the fun bit! Across from the 'top' egg, there is a spot back in the base where humans can sit and shoot your egg. Place an egg in the alcove next to here, and a trapper down low, facing away from the wall (on the wall)
4. Do the same on the oppisite wall, but no egg, just trapper.
5. Trap the non-pipe door, by putting a trapper along the left side (if facing it) and one along the right.
6. On the pipe-door, place a trapper on the right, outside the inner wall, on the curved wall... if you get what I mean...
7. With the last of your BP, place an egg above pipe-door, up above the slanted crossbar, over to the right as far as you can!
Conclusion for Nexus6: With a dretch or two, any onslought is easily stopped.
Pics and more maps coming!

Trappers never actually bothered me. Any strafe cancels the trapper and you can freely continue digging into the OM with your psaw. After that eggs are simple.
If there are dretches in the base you either camp the door, accurately killing the trapper or the incoming dretches, or trying to snipe OM to get some traffic to you.
Really. Trappers have to be placed in the case of a human team being a noob one, or in the places where the player just HAVE to go and CANT change his direction, or they will be positioned 1 centimeter away from the human, Otherwise it is mostly waste of BP

I have thoroughly tested this strategy, and the trappers are impossible to shoot from doorways.

Then it's time for you to get some skill.

Properly placed trappers in the default Alien base on Nexus6 are impossible to shoot without entering the base itself. Apart from that nasty forward trapper one can place right outside the door leading to the Red Pipe room.

there is not so much problem to "look around the corner".
Trapper has 50 hp. its just 10 rifle shots, when you run into the door and immediately fallback, the trapper will miss you. and will be easily killed. Again. there is not point in a defensive trappers. They have to be placed where you know there will be a fight and not camping humans, so that they dont have time to shoot or strafe the trappers.
Its a good idea to trap ways into the base, so that the suicide naders will not be able to get in, but as for the rest of the not-so-brave human population they will not just do their job.

Now that people have finally learned the knack of trappers' prediction and know how to evade them it is not so much about catching incoming humans as on immobilizing humans who have entered your base so they are easier to take out. In the chaos they are incapable of keeping track of all trappers deep inside an alien base (they can't scan for them from the outside) and as they dodge their way through your base they will probably run into the LoF of one if it's placed nicely.

when I am in alien base I am strafing like crazy due to large amount of dretches (and I usually not coming inside A base unless it is 3/4 dead) which cancels the trapper right away, its only a matter of luck if it will hit you. So why care? just another dretch who has the same probability of headbiting you.

I dont think trappers should be an issue. Yes trappers are good--if no one knows they are there. But acid tubes can be equally important in defending base. Acid tubes, while they can't stick your opponent can be devastating if paired in groups of 2 or 3. Especially if they are placed all over the alien base. Trappers just help humans from not moving around as much.
Generally I feel that nexus 6 is not a map designed for alien bases. I dont think it was designed for humans either. Any good player can come in and take down both bases when no building involved.
