Did Tremulous legally purchase the Q3 engine source code license? 'Someone' asked me on the FileFront forums, and I had to tell her I didn't know yet.
Source has been released under gpl iirc, assets have not.
Hmm...ermm, I don't really know what I'm talking about, so I'll just link you to the post, and you can reply from there: http://forums.filefront.com/filefront-com-help-center/337993-tremulous-filefront-network-site.html
It's worth signing up, anyway.
Basically, the company that made Q3 (id) said to everyone, "you can now use the Q3 engine for free, here's the code for it." ... basically.
But none of the art.
Hmm, ok, thanks. I'll tell her, and maybe we can get a Tremfiles.filefront.com up, if anyone else is interested.
Do you have a link to the document where id said that? Just for some more proof.

I think not devs pay for anything

Id Techs 1, 2 and 3 are all open source now, cuz Carmack loves us...
Nah, the devs spent $3,899 of the donations on Q3 licensing and patent agreements. The whole GPL thing is a cover-up.
yes microsoft was offering coupons at the time
