As far as I know it is not possible to create a separate sound effects per texture.
On the other hand we currently have got a variety of sounds available, such as metalsteps, for example.
Idea : in the map pk3 produce the same folder placement of sounds, hence replacing the data.pk3 sounds with the map's ones. Yes this will mess up the non pure servers, but it is the only solution I could find.
Result : this doesn't work, it perfectly works with jetpack sound, tesla sound, any sound but footsteps for me.
Question : is it just glitch with me or is it something hard-coded in Trem?..

surfaceparm metalspteps is mentioned in my post above. But what if you want add some non-standard sound? And btw, the answer is found, none of the models/textures/sounds can be replaced, due to a crappy pure server way of handling pk3s on the server-side.

Not being able to replace sounds means it's harder to cheat. That is what sv_pure is for.
It's not crappy, it's a very simple and effective way to combat the most blunt forms of cheating.
