I more or less forgot about this, but maybe it's worth getting a few votes in:

I don't think we can win again since we won last year, so there isn't much point to it... but meh, why not ;).

You cannot win before you make 1.2.
Now get going or I will ridicule you guys in my next tremcomic.
::)

Voted. =D

If you don't release it soon, I will install X11 and invent my map, a cross between Thermal and Volcano, with layout inspired by niveus, but with the road-way at the top. And as a first map, it will be crap and never see the light of day until I hone my map skills and then it shall be...
perfect...
You better finish 1.2 in the 8-16 months it takes me to do all that, or I will put random posters saying stuff like "1.2 now!" all over the finished map. And it will be so good, you won't be able to kill it, to be forgotten into the depths of time like other maps...
EDIT: Oh, and good luck in the ModDB contest.
-
I voted... earlier this year. Much earlier, also :-\
Can't vote again.
-
We made it into the top 100 apparently. Even though it seems like by their rules we're not supposed to be able to. <_<
So vote away!
-
someone had to do it :D
I think I made some promises involving things that might happen if we happened to win... but hopefully everyone forgot about that! HAHaha...
I think it was a new map, a new human player model, and animated 1st person weapons, and a full forced prodding of Timbo about 1.2. Funny thing is that with all the ruckus involving the contest, the team has been actually working fairly hard on all these things, as you may have noticed!

I never gave a specific deadline for all that <_____<
And I did at least release that map.

Darsana won, iirc. Didn't it? You got some award from the modDB team. Or maybe it was just the opposite. ModDB awards are for sure quite confusing.
-
Other way around I think. We won the player vote, but they picked other things for "editor's choice" stuff.
-
ModDB surely is confusing as hell...
-
Hehe I voted, then went to my neighbor's internet... then voted again :)
-
I voted before you even told me to...
I'm that special ;D
-
i gave a vote, now give me 1.2 tremulous

Hmm...
Last year they asked us to vote.
And they said that if we all vote, they would win.
And they said that if they win, they get the prize.
And they said that if they get the prize, 1.2 will come out faster.
Well, 1.2 hasn't come out in the last year, but this year they aren't implying anything like that this time around...
Ok, we'll all vote out of the goodness of out hearts!!!
Yea...
Wait, I already made my spiel earlier in this topic... Oops

Because voting a whole two times for Trem 1.1 is totally way more work than the amount of time and effort we put into making it.

+1, Give the dev's some freakin' cred.
After all, most of us play this game, most of us enjoy this game, and yes, it's been in development for 7 years.
Give them a break, as well as credit. I don't know how many of you were around for the 1.1.0 release, but I joined the fray two days after TJW posted the Mac version on Apple.com, and even then, Summer '06, 1.1.0 was an intensely buggy release. Ever thought that maybe the reason 1.2.0 is taking so long is because the dev's are fixing bugs?
Also, how many of you play on }MG{ Development? That's pretty much how 1.2.0 is going to be, if Timbo accepts it.
The game has changed a hell of a lot since 1.1.0's release, and most changes have been for the better *Glares at Share and Donate*
Applaud the dev's, don't make unreasonable requests. Maybe help 'em out a bit?
-
Sorry, was just (unfairly) venting a little.
I know you guys are hard at work, but you never go "Hey, look at this progress we made!!!" for the stuff you have already finished, outside of mgdev and svn. Also haven't posted much in the way of "What we really, really, hope to do before we think about releasing this." Just a thought, and on this rant, I think a fair portion of the community agrees with me.
Then again, if you said that a certain dropped feature would be in there as long as the community does the a lot of the work (and ourselves, in a reciprocating way) and its up to par, might give us something to do while we wait for it to come out.
For instance, vchat was cancelled because Dolby dropped off the radar and you didn't have all the voice-work you needed. If you said that if the community contributed the sound work, of sufficient quality and consistency, then there might just be a bunch of fans with mics cropping up, trying to do their part.
After all, thats part of what makes open-source software communities great.
-
as far as i know vsays are still planned for 1.2
-
The software being Open Source doesn't mean that Dark Legion development make you part of their team.
-
I agree with Nitrox, but I think 1.2.0 would easily be out if the community was allowed to contribute. Sure, some 5 year olds might

i should point out that
