Title: How can anyone get a goon without evo points???
Post by: zybork on December 24, 2007, 03:09:24 am
This night I played a strange game. First, there were only two of us, me (H) and a dretch in the alien team. Then, someone else connected, joined the alien team, I had built a nifty little base by that time.

He headed towards my little base, and then I realized that he actually had a dragoon!

How is that possible? He had no kill, and had been in game for about thirty seconds! I had no chance to ask him because the instant he got close to me he got softened up by my turrets and I cornered him and sawed him down, he disconnected immediately after that (maybe he just was looking for an easy game and lost interest the moment he realized this was not the case), but how the heck did he do it???

And I am sure he had no kill, because I was the only human and did not get killed that game.

Did he use any hacks? Was he an admin of some kind?

Strange things happen...

Did your buildings instantly appear when you made them? If so it could have been devmap.

Also, Share is a possibility, even though the first player was a dretch.

No, this was not a dev-map, my buildings took the usual time to power up, but it is possible that the other player had some evo-points because of the time this took - altough he got killed by my turrets a few times.

But I don't think that this was the case because I actually asked the other player how this one might have done it, but he couldn't tell me - and I don't think he concealed something ;)

it was an outdated server most likely, but the forum rules prevent me from giving any more details on this bug(and i'm locking this in case anyone else gets tempted to do so)
