Anyone here think they can help me?
Running Ubuntu Fiesty. i can play Tremulous fine and everything, but im unsure how to go about installing maps and patches for the game. All the files are located here:
( http://tremulous.megavoid.de/index.php?module=download (http://tremulous.megavoid.de/index.php?module=download) )
but i know linux is a bit different from Windows. If you can, plz help me step by step through the process of installing them :)

For maps just put the pk3 files into your tremulous base folder, or ~/.tremulous/base
By "patch" I assume you mean applying patches to the tremulous source. Do an apt-get build-dep tremulous to install the tremulous dependencies then grab an SVN checkout with an "svn co svn://svn.icculus.org/tremulous/trunk tremulous-svn -r xxx" where xxx is the revision number you want. 755 is 1.10. Apply your patch(es) then compile away.

k, but how do you compile a patch?
-
cd to where you put the trem source,
patch -p0 <./path/to/patch
make

If you just want to play tremulous then there is no need to compile any patches. Just download and install one of the improved clients and everything will be fine.

About patching, i've been trying to patch a QVM and i've been getting an error:
$ patch -p0 < ./NERO_QVM.patch
m.AllocationBase 0x0, m.BaseAddress 0x715B0000, m.RegionSize 0xD0000, m.State 0x10000
C:\msys\1.0\bin\patch.exe: *** Couldn't reserve space for cygwin's heap (0x715B0000 <0x1560000>) in child, Win32 error 0
and yes, i'm using NERO's patch file until i get it to work :-\
