Title: New map idea

This is a idea ive ben experimenting with, why not make a pure tricks n' traps style of map? they arent a "fun" map or a "serious" map. They are ment kinda as a trickjump map would be, to practice evading/how to solve this and such. I already have a very blunt test of the kind of map.
The map(s) would be for example a pyramid, you start at the bottem and work your way thru puzzle like things speartraps crushing walls and general etc of that sort.

GREAT IDEA THIS MAP WILL PWNZ.

Actually, I'm not sure how well this would work in Tremulous. Tremulous is a team-oriented, find-and-kill the other guy kind of game. Trick jumping is just not a very good application of the game. And obviously, aliens would have advantages (At least for the smaller classes and Dragoons). Sorry, but I just can't see this working in Tremulous.

prolly, for jedi academy, the idea would be good, but the concept is fun practice at mapping.  mebe it could evolve into a playable map? liek highrise...

My concept is to be a puzzle - and aliens would have their own area/could possibly be able to spawn like halfway in the map and try to stop the humans from geting to a area.

This sort of map (with traps, and needing some thought, basic timing, logic etc) could be good, but you have got to make sure that there is some possibility of having a game with it, and not just slowly edging through puzzles until the timelimit is hit, and each team hasnt seen each other.

I can see a labyrinth where people need to go through a puzzle like map before they eventually reach the opposite team, but only for the puzzles, no.

Hm... well im making the map as we speak... a very _alpha_ version might be done within 4 days to a week... if anyone would like to test it on their server just say so and il pm you a link for it :)

Just blurting out an idea is kinda pointless. Just make a map if you want to. It may be shunned when it arrives for release. But atleats you had fun making it :)
But remember Highrise was a trap kinda map. And quite frankly it was ok 1 or 2 times. But now its just annoying.

Also dretching would be pretty hard with trick jumps...
