Wow. That's insane, but I suppose they did suffer a ton.
That amount of money is preposterous.
-
Sounds like someone wants to read his/her name in the papers.
-
The US can't even afford to pay off their $9.2 Trillion worth of debt, let alone the frankly arrogant amount of 3 quadrillion.

adding that a stack of 1 quadrillion pennies would reach Saturn.
:o :o :o :o :o

... Oh crap.. how did they find out I was behind 1/290,000,000,000 of the hurricane..
Now I shall finally pay for my crimes!

Just one penny would reach saturn if you threw it hard enough.

Money Hungry saxophone playing hippies! Oh wait thats Bill Clinton!

How can you sue a government that is complete broke? I mean, there is nothing in this world that has a greater financial debt than the USA. Even if they win the case they will not recieve any money, unless the FED pulls some more monopoly money out of it's by the Chinese and Arabs sponsored ass.
-
U.S. Government = Make their own money, yet they are broke...hmm. No one is stealing.
-
I'm sure the government wouldn't allow this to happen... (the easy way, or the hard way)
-
Wouldnt allow what to happen? Your country going bankrupt? Well, they already let that happen...
-
Keep in mind that the article said many of these people exaggerated their claims to "send a message" to the Corps of Engineers; they don't actually expect to get $3 quadrillion. lol

Hell, there's only been one point in America's history where we haven't been in debt. We're just too important to the world economy for other countries to try to do something about it, and there are more immediate global issues than our debt right now anyway.

Hah. :P

Those global issues you talk about were American issues made into global issues. Your country is running by the grace of Chinese and Arab investors, the moment they decide to pull out, your country will collapse. It's a bubble about to burst, as the sub-prime troubles currently going on in the USA clearly show.

in the socialist era, the hungarian government went to japan for a visit.
when came back, they reported about the noble japanese nation, and about the dying capitalism.
but srsly, as their train is going with 300+ Km/h, how can you tell if their capitalism is dying or not?

I bet my left nut that 3/4 of the world would be pleased to change their own 'sub-prime troubles' with the ones that USApeople are having :-S

That view can only come from nationalist arrogance or merely ignorance, either way its the mindset one takes when their country is at a 43% risk of a recession, an increase of twofold since the level six months prior. As for your importance in the global markets, thats debatable. The only reason that foreign creditors haven't come knocking isn't because of American foreign investment or exports, but that America is a greedy consumer (although that too is slowing down). The fear of arbitrary military invasion may also be present to some degree. The fact is, America should be afraid of losing business with such important trade partners as Canada (oil, natural resources), the Middle East and South America (oil), and China (everything else++).
There are definitely more important global issues, but I can't think of anything more immediately threatening than the current financial situation for an American resident. I think it far from coincidental that one of the top concerns for voters in the upcoming presidential election is the economy. I won't even begin to mention the sub-prime mortgage lending causing a rash of foreclosures and evictions, and decreasing property values.

i honestly think this is a load of crap or a puplicity stunt. it would be funny though, thats why my corporation makes its own supplies so it's self sufficient so we dont need money we only needed it in the begining

They will get their money when I get my money.
