If none of the above, say where...

Some guy named Veda said "Timbo's mod sounds like it's going to be pretty cool. We should probably try to team up with him."

What about: "I realy don't know"?

my option would be google

Sourceforge.net. I was looking for FPS games And found this(Much better than a normal FPS).
-
GameFAQs.com's Forums
-
Oh, BTW can you add an "Other" option to that poll please.
-
stannum ?
-
Found on an 'Indie Games Thread' somewhere.
-
I believe it was linked to from the True Combat Elite forums, or possobly the Nexuiz forums.
-
From http://linux.org.ru
-
Nexuiz forum, if I remember correctly.

Q3W, when you asked for some new blood in the very late beta stages.
-
There was a news on GamersHell.com that Trem has now a stand-alone version released (about a few weeks ago I think). That was the first time I've heard about this game.

Video didn't impress me that much. The only reason i tried the game was because someone said the game was good on #clanbase.q3 channel.
I've played for 4 hours on some American server with 150 ping and just couldn't stop :)
I haven't changed my nick in the game since the first run, i still have [EU.slo] tag because i played on American server that night :)
-
Added some options. I'd add more but phpbb has a limit of 10 .

Already voted for following it as a q3 mod :( q3w deserves some attention as well. We need new people to slaughter.
-
I've read about Tremulous in this article (http://www.root.cz/clanky/tremulous/) on root.cz
-
a thread on indergamer.org

Already voted for following it as a q3 mod :( q3w deserves some attention as well. We need new people to slaughter.
I had a look at that but was quite confused. Is it a standalone or do i need q3 to play?

Q3W is the abbreviation for Quake3World (http://www.quake3world.com/forum). Was the official forum for quake 3 but we're just a fun bunch now once you get used to us.
-
ok sorry, just confused it for wq3
-
...from a wonderful fellow on ubuntuforums called KingBahamet
-
Was linked out of a thread on freeware/open source FPS games on the knoxgothic forums.
-
I found it on sourceforge, but it was a Q3 mod only. Then I forgot it. I finally got back when I saw it on TV (GIGA Games (http://www.giga.de)).
-
An irl friend told me about it and gave me a short tutorial
-
For me it was Stumble Upon.
Because no one else mentioned it before, i m gonna explain what it is :
Stumble Upon (www.stumbleupon.com) is an extension for several browsers (Firefox, IE, and some others...). When you register, you define some topics you like among the 500 topics offered (photography, video games, medieval history, war in Irak, etc...). Then you can click on the SU button in the SU toolbar, and it will get you to a website related to one of your favorite topics. The websites are proposed by others users. So they are most often very interesting.
I discovered hundreds of fun, interesting or informative website thanks to SU. It s really an original way to discover the Internet...once you start stumbling, you re hooked on the thing ;)

~1500 diggs and only 5 people? nice ratio :)
-
I learned about when you kept coming in #gloom and saying you were making a Q3 mod that would never came out. I suppose all that negative redicule created something addictive.
-
Some kid made a thread about it on U.G.
-
A Mac Gaming Clan (http://z7.invisionfree.com/Apple_Corps/index.php?showtopic=396) whose forums I view often.

Word of Mouth, a friend played the game from time to time and lured me inte playing it. Great game by the way!
Now I just have to get less noobish so people can stand beeing in my team..
-
I heard about tremulous on the italian ubuntu forum (ubuntu-it.org) just a week ago and I decided to take a look at this game.. now I can't help but try to walk on walls in my house corridor :)
But it doesn't work in real world  :D
-
Voted SA as it was a thread in there that made me realise the game had actualy realisd a relaisable state as I hadn't looked at these fruks for quite some time before the goodness of gewns was plyed int y head.

I found out of this game when I was browsing the most popular 'new technic magazine' of Finland, MikroBitti (www.mikrobitti.fi), and in the games section of the magazine I saw Tremulous shining at the position of "Game of the Month". And what took my curiosity was that I saw that this game was a modification from Q3A, which I play also, the most.
I quoted the text from word to word. :) (of course, translated into english first ;) )
Quote from MikroBitti, MB (c) Magazine:
"Game of the Month"
Tremulous
Originally Quake III Arena modification released Tremulous is a team based game which connects impressively realtime strategy into a FPS game. Players can either choose to be a spacemarine or an squishy alien, and both teams mission is a complete elimination of the opposing force. Battles are long and bloody, because it also requires to destroy enemy structures to win. Unlike all else internet FPS games, Tremulous requires a very good teamplaying from it's players. Protecting life vital buildings is more important than gathering points in the scoreboard, and it's more effective to proceed with a team than alone. The experience points gained from kills can be used to buy new weapons or improve to a greater alien.

Newgrounds. Some guy wanted to start a big Newgrounds Tremulous battle, and I followed the link provided to the site, and thought it was cool, so I downloaded it.
-
Found it through Stumble Upon firefox plugin. EVERYONE SHOULD GET IT!!!

Good ol' Word of mouth for me. Then again, some of the devs used to frequent IRC channels related to gloom, and would keep us regulated.

-
A Finnish site (mbnet.fi) which shows free games and programs found from internet. Ofcourse a small word which was "free" gave a small kick for trying this.
-
Found it on a magazine ranking free games.
-
MBnet.fi. Tremulous was game of the day some weeks ago and it looked cool and such so I decided to download. This game is awesome, too bad that I can't play it with my external firewall :\
-
I saw it in Mbnet too 8) . I was scrolling some games that had been there and suddenly I just saw it. I decided to try it ( I wasn't even sure if anyone was playing it ) but after I started playing it just blew my mind :P

SOMETHING AWFUL DOT COM
This game has a pretty good goon following and I'm sure it could expand even further if someone made the effort to make a new thread for this game in the Games Discussion forum or tried to start a competitive [LLJK] clan.

It's interesting that you say that. At one point, it seemed like most griefers had [LLJK] tags.
-
i found it via this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Portable_Computer_Games
sadly the universitys lab PC's dont have OpenGL :(
-

Well, I can't really vouch for everyone, but our forums are mostly idiot-free. Most of the people I've seen who play this game from SA are pretty swell and are above deconning structures and ruining the game for other people.
I know for a fact though that griefers frequently pose as other players when they want to stir up drama. Who knows though, maybe we do have a few bad apples. V :-? V

i found it on gamespy.com's download now feature thing. Definitely an awesome find

On a norwegian linux site called linux1.no (http://linux1.no)

I play Halo Custom Edition (well, used to :P) and I saw a map called A.T.C.S.XL and in the description it said it was based off tremulous... So I googled tremulous (after quite a few spelling errors  ) and found it... And trust me, whoever made that map totaly nerfed it... I mean, it has an extra back room in the base and no tunnel from base to base. Plus he made it so much bigger than it should be... God, he fit two warthogs into each crevice leading into the bases! :D
-
I found it while harvesting a handful linux gaming sites.
-
Dont forget www.gamehippo.com
i check it regularely, and one day, trem popped up on the frontpage.
Edit: oh damn, two people mentioned gamehippo before me.
well well, i guess it was not the greatest mistake i did.
-

Type "Freeware Games" on Google. Now tell me what is first.
"Captain Ventris" is the main character from three Warhammer 40,000 novels. Type "Captain Ventris" in google, and see who is first.
