It's a self-extracting shell script. Run it in a terminal.

i tried this sh tremulous-1.1.0-installer.x86.run and is not working (cant open the file)
What was the exact error message?
-
thanks uk its solved
right click in the file and (open with a command) i writed there sh and it works
now i have another problem on the blue screen NO WRITE PERMISSIONS FOR usr/local/games..........>>i know i can use chmod but how ...
-
You can choose to install to your home directory instead of /usr
If you specifically want to install tremulous system-wide then chmodding /usr to give yourself write permissions is not a good idea. Use sudo instead:
$ sudo bash ~/Desktop/tremulous-1.1.0-installer.x86.run
You'll be asked for your password. The installer will then be run with root privileges.

you need to turn off 3d desktop effects to run opengl games.

That's not true. I've run the game perfectly fine with all 3D desktop settings in effect.

that only works on some drivers with some graphics cards (or if you have your wm set to unredirect fullscreen windows, but windowed mode is kinda useful for alt-tab), and it can kill performance.
