Hey, I gave a problem.
The graphics are REALLY messed up. Here are some pics:

How can I fix this? I tried reinstalling, it didn't do much.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks a bit fake to me. I've never seen anything like this before.
-
Looks psychadelic o.O
-
Looks like your video card is about to go up in smoke.
-
Looks like removed textures with edited notex image + a bit of distortion + lame photoshopping.
-
Looks like photoshopping.
-
Oh my goodness, it's real!
Can you tell how to fix it? Why would I photoshop this, anyway.
My graphics card is FINE, because I can run TF2 and Half Life 2.
If you are gonna comment on some photoshopping that I didn't do, please don't post.
I don't need that trash here.
Thanks.
P.S.: Do you want more picture to prove my authenticity?
-
Looks like you're missing some pretty basic textures, but I've never seen it displayed like that. Reinstalling would probably just be easiest.
EDIT: Oh, you allready tried reinstalling... try downloading lots of textures?
-
I tried that. Didn't do much.
EDIT: ok. Where could I download some basic textures?
-
delete the tremulous folder and reinstall tremulous

I tried that. I thought it would help. It didn't. Thanks for your help anyway. :)

what he said.

To be honest with you, I actually envy your problems! xD.
It'd be fucking sweet to have purple walls...
But yeah, I know of people who would definitely photoshop for attention...
-
Check video card temperature. Too hot to touch? Repair or replace it's cooler.
-
Like I said, my video card is fine. It can run TF2 without a problem.
Looks like there is no solution. =C
-
Has this always happened or did it start recently? What changes were made to your system before this problem started?
-
Finally! A helpful response!
A while back, Tremulous ran fine. I haven't made much changes to my computer...
I have the same graphics card, sound card, system, etc..
I installed other games, but that probably wouldn't do much. Any help on this would be great.

Then OpenGL is what is causing it. TF2 and HL2 are both DirectX.

What can I do?
-
(re-)install the latest drivers for your video card.
-
Gotta say guys - I get much weirder stuff than that, and my video card is fine. Never with a native open GL game, but the effects look real familiar - like random or semi-random data was loaded in the place of textures.

Of course, that's a D3D game running under cedega. But still.

But most likely he just needs to install non-broken drivers.
-
My drivers aren't broken..
-
How do you know? Do other OpenGL applications show similar artefacts?
-
This may be worth trying.
In your home directory there is a tremulous (maybe .tremulous) directory. Not the one in C:\Program Files, but in C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\ search for it, its in Application Settings or some such.
I forget precisely where (perhaps someone else here knows and can point us to it?). Look in this directory\base\ and find autoexec.cfg. Rename and/or delete that file. In fact, rename and/or delete that whole base directory. Again, NOT the one in C:\Program Files\, but the one in your home directory that holds your game settings. The autoexec.cfg file would survive a reinstall cause it is not with the program files, and is a settings file for your user.
(not a windows user, so forgive me for mangling its location :) )

That looks awsome!! ;D

f****** genius. :D

Looks like this is a new problem.
-
Looks like a GFX card prob. Do try un-installing then re-installing the drivers... also, try another Q3A based game, see if that also has problems. (eg, Urban Terror 4.1, Warsow, Alien Arena, World of Padman, Rocket Arena, Open Arena, etc)

you need to rethink your definition of q3 based

Woops; sorry.... Warsow is q2 based. You're right.
-
The location tuple meant was this(at least on my pc, which runs Vista):
C://Users/Owner/AppData/Local/Tremulous/Base
Good Luck,
-
Actually, Warsow runs on an engine that is a combination of Quake2 and Quake3, hence the name Qfusion.
-
I sometimes get the same problem in Oblivion...
-
Very weird.
-
Very unhelpful.
What kind of gfx card do you have?
-
Doesn't happen anymore since I updated my drivers but I used to get an issue where minimizing and maximizing again would sometimes make very specific things all psychadelic colored and stuff. But it would only be like one player in the game or a single wall.
Like I said though, updated my drivers. >.>
