Hello. Since this is my first post, I may as well introduce myself. I have been an active Tremulous player for quite some time, and I've registered today to ask a question.
Okay, so, I have the latest SVN checked out and compiled (Revision 1056). I believe I have the game.qvm compiled as well. I certainly have the tremulous.x86 binary. Now, when I run the client, no pk3 files can be found. Obviously. I could not find any pk3 files or base files in the SVN repositories, mainly data-1.2-.pk3 which contains default.cfg. Is there anywhere I can find these files to place in my base? And no, I don't want to use any patches or 1.1 pk3's.
Thanks if you can :)

You need the 1.1 pk3 and the pk3 off trem.tjw.org or mgdev.
There is no 1.2 pk3 yet, it won't be made until launch.
Also, SVN isn't compatible with 1.1, so you will have no where to play.

You need the 1.1 data because that stuff just isn't in SVN (why would it be?)
By that I mean maps, textures, configs, models, blah blah blah. If it isn't code it isn't in SVN, usually, but that doesn't mean you don't need it.
You also need some of the assets from this pk3 (or any other that has them) (http://downloads.mercenariesguild.net/mgdev/mgdev-1018-1.pk3) because that's kind of missing. Unzip it and get ui/assets/*, then delete it. This is kind of a mess, really, because there's no 'official' place to get these from, but the official code still expects them to be there.
You can zip up your own svn ui/ folder (exclude the invisible folders, waste of space) and vm/* and use them. But, like David said, this'll only serve you to connect to Betaserv or something where you'll be forced to download and use their pk3s anyway. And play with nobody.
If you want to use an SVN client on 1.1. servers, then there are some patches (http://www.mercenariesguild.net/patches/?do=details&task_id=2) you can try :P
