Post by: Redman on February 18, 2008, 08:31:25 pm
Hello. This time i have problem with Paint 8. Q3map2 says left has too many portals. Problem isn't that i don't know what that means, but which leaf is too many complicated and how repair it without deleting half of map. My map is inside huge caulk box without any other things. Please, help me.

I was flying on map in GtkRadiant and i found a...
300 brushes rubbish. That made 3000 useless portals. I deleted it and everything was working. But i want to know what i can to do to make complicated brushes without thousands of useless portals? I use func_static, that makes this brush invisible for compilator at VIS stage, but can't build and wallwalk on these entities (i used it in Paint7 for make some places "unbuildable"). What about detail brushes?

Detail brushes are invisible for portal cauculation? And i have 1 more question. If brushes are smaller than 1x1x1 GtkRadiant units, they're invisible. Are tiny detail brushes also invisible?

They shouldn't be since there is a 0.25 grid setting iirc. Are they invisible in radiant or ingame?

Survivor: Detail is Ctrl+M not Ctrl+D. Ctrl+D hides detail brushes from view.

Tiny brushes are invisible in-game.
