How do you keep the server you made stay on the list when you shut down??? ???
-
If you make a server, the computer running said server MUST stay on. It would be like watching tv and then pulling the power cord. The computer the server runs on is what takes each players commands and turns them into appropriate actions and then tells each player what happened. Without it, nothing would happen because no one has made a delocalized server yet.
-
If you shut down then there is no reason for your server to stay on the list, because it doesn't exist anymore.
-
So how do I keep on it on the server list ???
-
KEEP YOUR COMPUTER ON!

Don't feed the trolls.
-
you must buy your server...
-
buy the server for how much

Depends don't bother asking in here, you'll get flamed. Search it First.

There needs to be a rule - People who try to run servers from home should not be fed information :)

this (http://www.thelocal.se/7869/20070712/) person might be able to host an okay server from home..

Thanks

I remember reading about this a few months ago, the computer she has can't even run fast enough to use that much bw.
-
She can watch 1,500 hd channels simultaneously? ;D

Then she dons a bowler, and beats a man to death with a walking stick while singing "Singing in the Rain".

40 Gigabits per second connection
*drool*

Haha, I don't think any computer can use all 40 gigs per second, it would be quite sufficient for hosting a decent server... :D
after all, I get about 150 kbps...
-
Throughput is irrelevant, as long as its over the minimum. Even if you get 1TB/s its worthless if its a slow link.
-
FINE! i guess fiber optix is pretty good, then...although only available in certain areas...
-
40 GB?... I doubt that an HDD will be able to operate at such speeds.
And it can be 40GB to provider, but if the prov feeds from a coctail straw after him, it is worthless.

Good movie.

Thanks. I was wondering if the reference was too obscure, or if I'm just that old...
