Title: uh how do i skin and adinmate

i am wondering how to skin and animate i can find a few tutorials on skinning but on animating i am at a total loss i know i can use blender but that is about it. and for skinning how do i get the mottle to be laded out in a grid in 2d cuz i saw some screen shots of it but i don't know if its possible to get it like that.  anyway please answer my question

For skinning you first need to perform a UV unwrap of the model to map the 3D surfaces onto a 2D plane. Blender has some useful tools for this (interactive cuts, etc...). Once unwrapped you need to export the UV map to a suitable 2D graphics package to create the skin.

Animation is a complex topic. The playermodels will need rigging (think of this as adding bones and joints) before you can animate them.

Work your way through some tutorials.

thank you a lot! the UV skinning is what i was wondering about and just like i thought animating is complex.  Its hard to find guilds for game animating because you find a lot on how to do 2d animating for cartoons.
