Sorry apple, google is going to bone you. Android looks really fucking nice, and has most of the features of iPhone, plus one major one.
Opensourcenesss.

If they could get Quake running, wonder if a tremulous port would be possible...

Quake and Quake 3 have different requirements, or so I'm told.
-
afaik, Android is just a phone OS, and was made with the iPhone hardware in mind...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall reading that somewhere.
-
Not made for the iPhone, afaik.
-
It looks ugly.

So does your face!

That looks really sweet (http://youtube.com/watch?v=XYUXlt61Q6U). In two more generations, they'll be current shooters.

lol iPhone is gonna win.
Android is cool, and will probably take over a large proportion of the market (I'll bet everyone but AT&T will jump for it), but the iPhone with its new SDK will be nearly unstoppable.
Who's going to go for Android when they can play spore on their iPhone? Exactly.
=D

If apple gets their head out of their ass, and puts the iPhone on verizon, I might consider it.
-
Correct me wrong, but you can hack the Iphone to work on most cell phone companies.
-
Your semi-right.
If you dont update, you dont get bricked, and you can.
But you cant with verizon or sprint, which are CDMA and not GSM

Yeah, what Paradox said.
Anyways, I've got an iPod Touch, not an iPhone, so I don't mind much about which carriers I can use. I just use VoIP. :D. I do look rather goofy having a phone conversation with earbuds in, though. ;)
I'm considering getting an android phone + my iPod Touch to do everything. I think I'd be set for a good while then.

My friend uses Skype on his iPod Touch... works a charm, except that you have to have a wifi connection available.
-
Yeah. The whole wi-fi thing is why I still have my cell phone. Otherwise I'd just use my iPod for everything.
Oh well, it's still a fun machine.

If you own an iPhone and unlock it then you'd better be smart enough to change the default root password from "dottie" to something else. Logging into unlocked iPhones from other iPhones over EDGE w/ the default password is extremely easy and I know plenty of people have done it messing around.
