a master demo recorded by the server that shows every player, freely specable.
A: great for scrims/Tournaments
B: even better for bot hunting
-
Server-side demo's are featured on multiple developer todo lists, so it's just a matter of dev time and priority.

<3 WTB.
Make everyone able to make freely speccable demos, PLEAAASE? :(
-
Well, since the server already records player and projects positions, it shouldn't be an epic step. I only hope that it won't take up epic amounts of space.
-
It would be smaller than the size of one demo per player, since every player has the positions of everyone in their vis area included in the demo.
-
You would have to store snapshots of all the entities every frame (every 50ms), which can take up quite a lot of space. It could also be possible to only save modified entities but then more processing would be required.
Server-side demos are on my TODO list, but I am not working on it atm.
-
Bungie could do it, so can we.
-
Screw those cheapasses at Bungie, better look at MVDSV (http://www.qw-dev.net/projects/show/4) on how to properly do multiview demos.
-
Someone want to splice their code into a trem server?
-
You would probably need a modified client too. so that you can move around while viewing the demos.

No, that's the whole point of a server-side demo. You are a spectator, can't join teams, and all the other players are like bots
