Which IRC client is best?

I have tried xchat, pidgin, miranda, and irssi.

Currently irssi has my vote.

Linux machine with stable Internet connection + 'ssh' + 'screen' + 'irssi'.  Doesn't get any more "Win" than that :>

It's funny... many years ago I started with mIRC, then moved on to X-Chat, and recently gave up on gooey interfaces and went to irssi.  I don't think I could ever go back.. clicking things is overrated when compared to the ability to have one IRC session follow me anywhere I go.

edit: fixed for you roci ;D -kev

re-edit: No, my Irssi is only one deep.. it's by the time I'm on the console of PureTrem that I have to Ctrl-A A A D to detach :P

Use Mirc at home.. not that fond of it. Use xchat at work.. it gets the job done. I keep hearing irssi is good and hopefully i'll learn it sometime.. fired it up a few times and started screwing stuff up with the splitting etc so.. maybe my way of thinking about it is incorrect or I haven't found a good noob guide about good channel management yet... I'll keep at it because I haven't heard of anyone who did that ended up not loving it.

@Paradox: It's the japsu (http://irssi.org/themefiles/japsu.theme) theme which  I edited to my liking.

There is no "I don't do IRC" poll option.
I probably should consider starting to IRC.

If you dont do irc, then you don't have an opinion of the best client. ;)
