hiya.
im new.
we play tremulous at school all day because the lan allows us to do such crazy things.

but we want the title screen song as either a WAV or an mp3 and was wondering if anyone could help us out?
Because none of us are that good at programming or anything like that.
Thanks very much. byes.

I too would be interested in the delights of the tremulous theme tune.

Since I don't want to explain how to get it from the data-1.1.0.pk3, I've uploaded said song here (http://satgnu.net/lava_croft/files/heartbeat.wav).

I have done a heavy metal version of the Trem theme... I might record it!

Wow, you actually want the song?

I thought this topic would express my own opinion, i.e. that the menu music is plain annoying :P

There's menu music?
I had to think for a few seconds to even remember the game has menus.
Why does anyone still use that stuff?

If i was bothered enough, i'd get a better song, convert to .wav and stick it into my data.pk3

and then you wouldn't be allowed to join any pure servers

Well, if it has thesame size/name/extension, it should work... :D

Modifying the data.pk3 is a very bad idea. Have it in a different pk3.

It's not working! I converted a Rob Zombie mp3 to wav and zipped it into a pk3 named zzztest. But when I start up Trem I don't get any sound except the long ping at the very beginning. What am I doing wrong?

wrong bitrate most likely (assuming you did get the path right)

sound/ui/heartbeat.wav
I was unaware that it had to be a certain bitrate, I'll try changing that.

Edit: Holy fuck! 705 kbps!

Rofl. Are you sure its 705kbps? I don't remember the file being that big...

And kev, why wouldn't it work?

It won't work because all the servers will assume you cheat.

Yes I'm quite sure about it.
Code: [Select]
WAV Audio
1.1 MB (1188012 bytes)
13 seconds
Linear PCM
22050 Hz
705 kbps

I'm also aware of that David, this is just for my own testing purposes.

So a better option would be to modify the file that handles the main menu and tell it to look for the menu song in a different place (i.e. somewhere pure servers don't check)?
