Hey, have/do any of you run Tremulous in the 64-bit version of Windows Vista? Eventually I'm going to "upgrade" (if you can call it that) and I was wondering if I'd have to do anything special.
Thanks!
-
you shouldn't have to do anything special to run a 32 bit version of tremulous, getting a 64 bit version might be a bit of a pain though.
-
Well I had remembered people were having problems with brightness in Vista, so when the added complexity of 64-bit gets thrown in I just didn't want to be surprised. If that makes sense....
-
I use vista 32-bit. I had no problems with brightness. Other than the usual darkness i had on my XP computer.
-
I run Vista 64bit and tremulous. A bit of messing around was required, but nothing a streetwise unprofessional cannot do.
It seems my gamma is a bit broken though, i cannot change it in the console, and I have to use the bar, which is always at max, so i have to slide it down again before I slide it up, which makes it bright as normal.
But these are very minor problems, and can probably be solved permanently without much bother.
All in all, it was more painless than i excepted it to be.
-
Do you see a major difference in the 64-Bit?
-
I don't know about any difference between vista 64x and vista 32x, because I have not tried the latter.
But the only major difference between XP 32 and Vista 64 is the gamma thing.
-
The gamma is messed up. Makes my depth perception off. I can't tell distances between me and the enemy.
-
how about everyone post a picture of xp vista 32 bit and vista 64 bit so we can see the difference
windows XP

what makes you think there would be any visual differences between 32 bit and 64 bit versions?
-
does Q3 engine have r_ignoreHardwareGamma?
EDIT: Yes, it does: Try r_ignoreHWgamma 1
-
Works fine in Vista x64 with Radeon. If you're using crappy Nvidia, your experience may vary.

LOOL!!!!! now i know why my gamma was first f*cked up with vista.
i have Nvidia gforce 8400
btw, i found 1 solution for gamma problem... (i'm not sure does it work with your computer, but works fine with me)
go to console and type r_gamma 350( or other number) <-- this thing helps me in tremx mod, i can see invicible aliens or humans like normal =]
but i dont play tremulous anymore.
