Title: Tremulous on Android?
Post by: TooL on April 29, 2008, 02:52:50 am
Ok, I may be a few years (or months) early on this one.  Anyone thinking about porting this to Android once it gets more popular?  Some smart phones can run regular Quake fine, as the Android demo showed, so its only a matter of time before a game like this would work on it.

Utilize the internet connection for multi-player.  Thats something that has not happened yet in the cellphone industry (well, that I know of).

Ohh and hi everyone!  This is my first post here.  I have known and played Tremulous for awhile, I just never made a forum account until now.

For a second I thought the topic name meant Tremulous on steroids or something; android is really harsh and nasty stuff.   :-\

Shit, though kevlarman meant q3.

I agree, a cellphone probably wouldn't be able to run q3.

Unless your phone has at least the power of a pocket PC, I don't see Quake3 running on it anytime soon. Phones nowadays can barely keep up with Quake1.

Even after Tremulous is ported to a smart phone, then there will be other difficulties to tackle, such as controlling your human/alien, FPS problems, connection problems (you will probably have high ping) and I guess some other hardware related problems

This looks pretty cool, but the control scheme would be extremely limited.

Pretty cool but results in some of the difficulties I mentioned such as controlling the player.

Its technically possible but you still can't play it (in terms of 'gaming')

OMG....I just realized...Poland must be way more technologically advanced than anywhere else. All of these things apply to your typical PLayerPL. We must spy on their cellphone technology.
