Title: Connecting to server problem
Post by: Zephyr on April 30, 2008, 01:04:31 am
Whenever I click on a server to join, I get to a screen that says

the IP address, then
"Awaiting challenge..." plus a number, and then below that it says
"Server is for low pings only". I never get to join the game.

The server was "Skittles".  I tried a different server, too, but it didn't work.

I have not tried making my own server yet.

Thanks for the help.

When choosing a server to join pay attention to the 'ping' column, lower is better, try and find servers with a ping below 100. Where in the world are you and how do you connect to the internet?

Well, I live in Virginia, and connect wirelessly... I guess that could be the problem.

OK, I connected to one of the servers with a really low ping (1), and it worked!  The only problem was that my fps was low.  I guess if I really want to play, I need to connect directly to my internet, instead of wirelessly.

Your FPS was how low? Framerate and connection speed are unrelated, what kind of graphics hardware do you have?
