Title: SP Mac Games (that might run on a laptop)
Post by: player1 on May 17, 2008, 08:33:27 am
Avert Fate (http://conspirat.com/avertfate/)

WolfQuest (http://www.wolfquest.org/index.php)

I haven't played either yet, I just happened to be looking through this (http://guides.macrumors.com/Free_Mac_Games) page, and both of them looked like they might be worth an afternoon, for people who also occasionally enjoy the single-player experience. If anyone has tried either of these (or any of the others on the list), or knows of any other SP Mac games (especially ones that will run on an Intel 950 GMA), please feel free to add links to the thread.

Cheers!

On a side-note: I've heard World of Padman, Battle for Wesnoth, and several other games from that (http://guides.macrumors.com/Free_Mac_Games) list recommended on this forum before. If you have any personal favorites, like BZ Flag or Nexuiz (I know they aren't all SP games) please feel free to chime in and plug them.

meh - the macrumors server is bogged or something - feh...

Preferably 3D games, like the examples, but thanks for your helpful (http://www.weedcollege.com/potman/) suggestion (http://pac-man.classicgaming.gamespy.com/Sounds/GAMEBEGINNING.WAV). :P

Avert Fate isn't bad, but it's really short. Battle for Wesnoth is alright if you're into turn based strategy games and the like.
I don't know much about the others.

If you want to try something different, I'd suggest Gate 88 (http://www.queasygames.com/gate88/news.html)
Note that it's 2D though.

Lugaru (http://wolfire.com/lugaru.html) might run on most recent laptops (besides the Air). You have to pay for it though, but it's well worth it.
