Apparently, such PMs are seldom read.
Just use IRC. It doesn't require much effort to point your IRC client at irc.freenode.net and typing /msg nickserv register.
I don't think he needs to register to get on freenode ..
Indeed, it's not strictly necessary, but you are asked to register your nick with a password every time you connect though.
You have to register to talk on #tremulous, thanks to the spam bots.
Just go to #tremulous-dev, which is where this sort of thing should be anyway.
