There should be a necro filtering function on forum sites. Like, if you try to post in a topic that hasn't seen any action in a month, you get a warning message like this in big red letters:
THIS BETTER BE A REALLY FUCKING GOOD POST, because this thread has had no activity over the last (x number of) days, and if it's just somemore dumbass spam, you WILL be banned.
Then each instance of a necro is flagged on the admin control panel, and the admins/mods can weed out the dipshits. :)
And if they try to necro something that's been dormant for a full year, have it just auto ban their subnet, because they're probably polish.
-
But then what will the moderators have to do?
-
Even better, have it prepend that into their actual post...
Warning: This dumbass didn't read the message the forums wrote in red on their screen saying there were no posts in a long time. If this is crap, don't worry about replying to it since the post will soon be moved, thread locked, poster banned, or some combination of those three.
-
Eh, wtf is this?
-
Way cooler idea than Kohrylite's.
Haha, definitely! Man, what other good stuff can we build into this?
Maybe create a usergroup of outcast "necro-ers" that they get put into after their ban is up, which has some sort of shame associated with it. Everyone in the usergroup has a fun little avatar (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/dumbgwailo/loser.jpg) next to their name, indicating their shunned status.
[EDIT:] Grammatical edit. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Only problem is the "worthy" necros.. like this one (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=7261.msg127982#msg127982) just a little while ago.
-
There already is necro filtering, and FYI, the message is red.
