Hey, i'm rob. I just wanted to know... (n00b question approaching) how do you change your name?

press the ~ key to bring down the console and type /name "whatever u want name to be"  

if u wanna get more complex using ^ and a # will change color so if u want a red name u type

/name ^1redname

Or, you can use the options menu.

You have to connect to a server to be able to use the options menu, though.
