Working on a semi-outdoor map and the sides wont hide, i have the skybox right were my crosshairs are pointed. and all around me.
Should i put a shader infront of the skybox? If so which one, ive attempted using hint, mirror, and a few others to mask the map behind the wall.
Any suggestions?

From what I can see in that screenshot, you should adjust your brushwork to solve that problem in an elegant manner. That is, remove excess brushwork and caulk up the rest. If I am completely wrong about what you are trying to do, please some moar info.

I think what you are experiencing is one of the most common limitations of Quake3's shitty handling of skyboxes. Everything that is present in your current PVS will be shown through the skybox. The only thing that really helps here is to get the offending part of the map out of the current PVS. Hint brushes, redoing the layout, that sort of thing, although in your case, rebuilding looks the be only viable option.

yeah i thought so :/ thanks for your help !

You could stretch the ground...

That is a rather crude solution for a problem that really should be solved in a better way. But if he is lazy, it could work.

If I were you, I'd put in some cliff faces (http://simonoc.com/pages/articles/rockwall1_1.htm), or even stick a building there, providing that it fits in with your map.

oh wow ty kaleo :D i havnt had much time to work on the map, but other then Expanding the 'outside' (not stretching..), and remaking, Walls seem like the best idea yet!
Though i suppose i will need to expand anyways like i planned, but in the wrong direction (oh well! ill make it work)
Ty lava, doom, and kaleo!
