Title: New map: atcs-x

ATCS-X is only related to atcs in gameplay, 2 symmetrical bases and 2 combat areas. The combat areas are a bit bigger though and theres a slightly better chance for egg spam on alien side.

As long as theres no new gameplay bugs, this is the final release.

We tested the map's earlier versions on a few servers and the map seemed relatively balanced.

Personally, I would not release this as a final. Even if you are focusing on gameplay, aesthetics are essential. Your map is poorly lit, and the brushwork is fairly lacking. I would suggest releasing this as a Beta, and working on the looks for the final if the gameplay is balanced. Stating that you don't care about looks because you're only interested in gameplay gives me the impression that you are lazy. The TechSoc texture set is complemented well with good brushwork, where as your brushwork would more suite an eQ2 texture set.

Kudos, however for releasing a map. Judging by your website, it's your first release. If it is your first release, the you've outdone my first release.

Played an older version, I hate it during devmap when people noclip to the easter egg to build.

I have just one question for you. Why would you be playing a game with devmap? You know everyone's going to use cheats.

Development server, I turn it on once in awhile to test some stuff. And people joins and starts fooling around

Back on to the topic,
Any changes from previous versions?

Yeah.. it's my first map.

Only minor changes in this version:

I agree that the map could look better, but you're right.. I am lazy.. (Also, due to other projects I don't have much time to work on the map for at least 6 months)

That area isn't really an easter egg, but is required for the skybox. No denybuild there since usually the game isn't played with devmap on :)

So, as long as theres no gameplay related bugs... This is the final release.

Such a dark map, i played on it, bumped my brightness all the way up and it was still dark....

Sitting down and spending four or five hours to make your map look good is fairly easy and, I think, relaxing.

Now that i look at it, this map seems to be a great idea, since a lot of players are tired of the old ATCS but like the size and shape, we could replace it with this the original and people wont get bored or tired of trem that fast, because of ATCS being loaded too much.

Come up with a better name for it then atcs-x what does that stand for Advanced tactical combat simulator xylophone ?
