Hey everyone,
I'm a Mac user on Leopard. I downloaded the server files, went through port forwarding and now have a running server. However, I want to change the QVM from the stock one (provided by TJW along with all of the other files i used) to Nero's Crazy Serverside QVM.
I downloaded Nero's, and put it in the place where the old one was. The server still loads and everything, but none of the new commands (!weapons, !slap) are there. I have no idea what happened.
Help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new at this.

delete admin.dat and let it create a new one, or add the flags to the proper levels by hand.
-
That was another thing I was going to ask about after I got this resolved. My admin.dat dosn't exist. I can still add admins and use admin commands, but there is not admin.dat file anywhere. Where would it create a new one?
-
It should be in ~/Application Support/Tremulous/base/.
-
I put a brand new admin.dat where you told me to, but it has no effect on the game at all. I define 7 levels in the admin.dat, but when I'm in the game it insists that there are only 5. I also put the flags from the QVM I want into the admin.dat, but it had no effect.
I think I need to find where the server is dumping all of the information about admins and getting the information about levels from, because that is what needs to have the flags added to it.

You need to do !readconfig for the changes to take effect.
-
Ok, I did !readconfig in the game, I restarted the server, and typed it it from the console. It says there are 4 admins (which is correct) and 6 levels (0-5). However, like I said earlier, the admin.dat specifies 7 levels. In the admin.dat, there are no admin names, which makes me think the game is using something else as the admin.dat.

Search every folder in ~/Application Support/Tremulous/ and tell us if you find any other files called admin.dat.
-
I'm just gonna re-install all of the server files.
-
You should post the admin.dat, removing any GUID that is. It could be a problem with your syntax.

Everything reloaded, problem solved. That was wierd. However, I can't set the build points. I have it set in the server.cfg. This works for the first game, but when the map changes the build points go back to the normal 100.
I'm new to the forums, do I need to make a new topic for this problem?

you should search, since this question has been answered many times (hint: g_mapconfigs)

All problems solved, thank you!
