Title: Update Again: Savage2 another sales weekend for only $9.99 (8/29-8/31/08)
Post by: Julius on August 03, 2008, 06:55:40 pm
Sorry that the offer is almost over, but if you are quick you can still get in:

http://savage2.s2games.com/

It's a FPS/RTS hybrid, kinda like Tremulous btw, and also has a native Linux client (which can be used after buying it in Steam also)

Update: they changed the permanent price to $19.99 which is a good deal also ;)

Update again:
Awesome trailer:

And they have another sales weekend NOT on Steam but on their website this time (29-31) for only $9.99.
Plus a nice patch wich graphical additions and engine optimisations comming out today or tomorrow (should run better on older hardware).

Because it's a good game.

No need to be paranoid about it, I am not getting paid for posting here ;)

Who cares? Why are you advertising this here?

Why are you consistently rude for no good reason?

On the off-topic topic: Quite a few tremulous players also play Savage 1 (The Zubs used to have a Savage branch for about 1 month, though we became non-existent in that game a while ago).  Thanks for the info, Julius. I might try it.

Bomb has a point. He is advertising. This is not the place for advertising, and if it is;

This isn't exactly egregious advertising.  It's a polite reminder of a deal some of us may be (and are) interested in.  I've posted about Tremulous on the Savage forums (good things, don't worry), and no one complained at all there, regardless of whether it was against their rules.  Even if this sort of advertising *is* against the rules, there's no reason to post in the thread just to be rude.  If you disagree, so be it.

Tremulous is free, Savage2 is not.

What if people started to use this forum for all kinds of advertising?

Yes, Tremulous is a free game, you only pay for the cost to get it on your computer.

Eh, if he stood to profit by posting this information, it'd be gone already.  Hell, in some places on here we *do* have people who post ads and they stand to gain from it (renting servers, for example) but it's more related to Tremulous directly.  Now if he posted about games on sale all the time, I'd be less "meh" about it.

Someone did not understand that products are also in need of transportation to arrive at your house/company, and that this transportation costs money. This particular person overlooked the fact that while Tremulous may be a free product, actually acquiring this product does indeed cost money.

@Rocinante: Allowing this kind of advertisement opens the door to all kind of advertisement that is not entirely Tremulous related, but just a bit.

Could somebody please edit this topic to mention the deal is over, before it's "the weekend" again?

I play this.  Unfortunately, the Tremulous community and server health is better.  Never any games on low ping servers for me.

Where are you located? Here in Europe there is often no official server with a free slot :(
