My server shows up fine in the master list. The map we're on also shows up fine. However, even when there are a good amount of people in the server, it still lists it as 0 clients connected in the the master list.
I have hit "get new list" many times. Even when I go over to someone else's house, with a different internet connection than the one the server is hosted from, the server's players still show up as 0. I know there are people on there, but I can sit there and refresh the list for 10 minutes ( I have tried this) and it will still show up as 0 clients in the master list.
The only thing I could possibly think of that could be causing this problem is that I have about 10 private clients reserved for bots. I know other servers that use this feature without problems, however.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the server IP/port?
-
I'm hosting from a friends house, so my IP is gonna change as soon as I go home. ( The problem happens no matter where the server is hosted, which makes me think I have a messed up setting somewhere.)
The port is the default for tremulous, 30720.
-
All the master server does is send a list of IP addresses, the client then checks with each server to get the info.
I would suggest you contact whoever made the mod you use, as this never happens in 1.1 so its probably there fault.

I use nero's crazy serverside QVM. I know other servers that use this without problems. Aslo, map and server name display correctly, so why would players be incorrect?
-
I've been looking around and I found this on my router manufacturer's website ( I use a NetGear router).
Quake III :Each computer uses a different port number. Add 1 for each player starting with 27660. 27660 (+1 for each player)
It was from a port forwarding section, with numerous applications and games, and notes about port forwarding for them.
Tremulous wasn't on the list, so I figured Q3 was pretty close. Does this mean that I have to forward more ports? One for each player? For example, if my server has 10 slots, I would have to forward all ports from 30720 to 30730?
Help would be appreciated. I'm a noob at this. :/

No, you shouldn't need that.
If you give us the server IP then I can see if anything looks wrong, but otherwise you'll have to go poke nero.
-
It's up right now, Lux Unlimited. Near the top in red, white, and light blue. Lemme see if I can find the IP.

Just wondering, what does my IP have to do with any of this? Does anyone know what the deal is?
-
I can't find your server on the list. If I could, I would already have your IP and so it wouldn't matter.
Even if we can look at your server, odds are there's nothing we can tell you anyway.
Nero's the one who broke it, he's probably the only one who can fix it.
-
Ok, I really don't think that the QVM is the problem. Fun server uses the QVM, so does Instant-Play. Both of them work without problems. Also, my server is definantly there, I am looking at the console and there are people on right now.
-
quakestat -tremulousm master.tremulous.net | grep -i "Lux"
Get nothing. http://tremmaster.quakedev.net/ also doesn't show it.
-
Server re-booted. Any other ideas about the problem?
-
P.S. I just called up a friend down the block and had him connect. It should be up.
-
In the first post you state that the server is visible on the server list, whereas others state it is not visible. Have you set the right mode (+set dedicated 2)?
-
Yes. It is in the terminal shell I use to launch the server. Also in the shell is the +set net_port 30720, the same port I have forwarded. I have called friends and had them check. The server is up, and people are on it. However, the master list still reads it as 0 players. As you would imagine, this makes it hard to attract people to the server, as no one wants to play on an empty one.
-
are the players in private slots?
-
did you port forward?
-
did you port forward?
Useless question, if he didn't forward, he wouldn't have players in his server in the first place.
are the players in private slots?
Yes that could be a bug/glitch or problem with the server.cfg, so thats a possible conclusion
-
Now I think we could be getting somewhere. I have 10 private slots. Sometimes there used for bots, sometimes there not. What decides whether or not a player goes into a private slot or a regular one?
-
They get a private slot if they have the right password.
-
I don't have a password set. Is this why?
-
Also, server is going down for a bit while I hop over to my Windows partition.
-
The players in the server don't need a password to connect using a privateslot. My clan leader Wireddd put in some code to recognize our admin level and we could get in automatically using a private slot, but it had bugs and crashed the server so he stopped using it. It might be possible for such thing to happen to you in a different way. What .qvm and server.cfg are you using, default = TJW's.

I don't have a password set. Is this why?
possibly, players in private slots (those from 0 to the number of private slots - 1) don't show up on the list.
-
Private slots apparently do not show up in the main list. How do I set it so that players enter using regular slots, instead of the private ones? I would really to keep the private ones there for bots.

Set a password?
