Title: Mac issues with server
Post by: Lonly on August 20, 2008, 10:38:24 pm
Hi, my friend has a mac. He made a server and its all perfect. Well everything but the qvm. We tryed everything. We made a folder called vm and put the qvm in there and it still wont work. We but it  in base and everywere. Does anyone got ideas. Please be serious i don't want any stupid blender thing were you put the coconut in the blender and all that. Please gimme real answers that will work! Must be tremded. He must have wrong one. Hes using it from tjw. can that be the problem? Also he put it in the tremulous folder, in base, and made a folder called vm and put it there.

We need more info, are you sure it is on the correct place?

are you ussing the correct tremded and running it as you should?

Why do you say that the qvm dont works?

can you give us the console log after start the server?

Can you give us a log of the server console at start?

QVMs don't belong in that base folder. Put them in ~/Application Support/Tremulous/base/vm. The ~ means /Users/YOUR_USER_NAME.

There doesn't appear to be any problem in your console output. I don't recommend this for general use, but putting tremded next to your client might help.

Talk to/pm Confess here on the forums. I am sure he can make you a hosting deal. Don't expect it being "one dollar per month 60 slot tremulous server" though.

im sorry for my noobish questions (even though ive played for like a year :egg: :acidtube: :egg: :acidtube: :egg:): what is a slot??
Title: Re: Mac issues with server
Post by: Snake on August 24, 2008, 07:41:53 am
LOLOLOL.

A slot is the space on the server that a player uses into a server(havent you seen these number liek 0/25, it means that 0 = the current number of players(ussing public slots) 25 is the max number of public slots.) so they sell you a X number of max slots.
