I'm not exactly sure where this belongs, but it's feedback more than anything.
Everyone knows the dropdown shortcut to the default alien base on Nexus6; the one where humans can drop down the side of a catwalk onto some pipes. Well, on the two open holes on the sides of the catwalk, you need to crouch after dropping to get off the pipe, due to some sort of overhanging mass or protrusion.
I've accidentally gone down there with a BSuit, and I obviously couldn't get the hell off. I had no weapon I could suicide with, and my cries for euthanasia were unheard.
So, are people supposed to be able to get stuck? This is the only place where I ever managed to get stuck like that. In Uncreation, if a human without a jetpack jumps onto the platforms beneath alien default, they can't get back up either, but at least they could jump off and suicide. I was there for a full minute until a tyrant finally found me.
It's not a bug, glitch, or coding anomaly. It would fall under map design if anything, but I'm wondering if such traps for human players are acceptable (don't think it was done on purpose), or if that would constitute poor design.

Hmm.
Well, I can't answer your questions about map design, but in those circumstances, you can type /kill into the console to kill yourself.

if ur talking about the map im thinking of... of all the openings with pipes on that catwalk the 2, one on each side, next to a door on one of the sides of the room has a larger opening with no pipes.. ull prob want to take that so u dont get stuck
other then that what was just said above if u do get stuck /kill or if u have jetpack go back up

Same thing happened to me but I had the lucy.
First I had to get the little bugs chewing on me off my back then I just shot at my feet and was able to lucy/rocket jump out of it.
I did die in the arms of a cute little tyrant 5 seconds later but at least I wasn't stuck anymore :P

Humans getting stuck is not a big issue since it doesn't happen regularly.
ALIENS on the other hand, getting stuck is a lot more common, and it's even more anoying when you evolve somewhere you'd normally get a popup message saying it's not big enough for you to evolve.
I know /kill seems a quick solution. But there should be also a "refresh position" command. (Thing, racing games, where you reset the cars position to the middle of the track)

some normally have a /stuck command which shifts you x units away from a surface.

Here's a fun place to get stuck...
On niveus, in the middle of the wide corridor near the default human base, hang upside down where you can see lights through the grate in the roof. let go the roof and immediately evolve into a dragoon (you'll need a bind, the menu isnt quick enough for this) your goon will evolve with its head stuck in the grate.
Also, its no fun being a tyrant or stage 1 granger down in the tunnels on tremor - unless you can find a friendly dretch to jump on while they climb you out. :D

Accidental design flaw. Intending some sort of fix for this with the next version of Tremulous.

BSuits actually also get stuck in a select tunnel section on MEEPS, but that map is of course still in beta. There is a dropdown that leads to a few vents, but BSuits can't get in them, nor could they get out (you need a jetpack, and obviously if you have one then you don't have a BSuit and can crouch into the vents).
I once ended a game trying to organize a human pyramid, with a jetpacker on the bottom pushing people up.

Previous beta BS couldn't get in the tunnel due to the grate needing to crouch as well. That changed and as far as I know catalyc is planning on adding a bigger exit as well.

Well this should definatly be taken into consideration in map design. Never make a place where the only way to get out is flying or ducking.
